Summer Running

Whether you are a returning cross country runner, new to the sport, have running experience, or are a beginner; you will find the summer running group is an excellent way to improve your fitness.  The group meets at 7 am throughout the summer at a variety of locations around the area.  The group also participates together in area 5k and 10k runs before the season starts.   The benefits of running with a group are tremendous.  Not only do you not have to run alone, but you will enjoy the camaraderie of running with your peers.  Join the group whenever you can. 

How much should I run?  
The amount you run should match your current level of fitness and experience.  This is different for each individual.  The best way to figure out how much to run is to attend summer group runs.  If you cannot attend, then send Coach Kim an email or give a call.  Make sure to give yourself a few weeks of consistent running to let your body adjust to the new stress before increasing mileage.
